Michelle Kennedy
Founder and CEO of Peanut
Michelle Kennedy is the founder and CEO of Peanut, the social networking app redefining how women connect across stages of life, from fertility and pregnancy to motherhood and menopause. Since its launch in 2017, Peanut has become a global platform used by over 5 million women monthly, providing a safe, supportive space for authentic connection and community.
Before founding Peanut, Michelle was co-CEO at Badoo, one of the world's largest dating platforms. There, she played a key role in strategic growth and operations, and was inaugural board member at Bumble, contributing to its rise as a globally recognized brand. Michelle’s idea for Peanut was born from personal experience. As a new mother, she felt isolated and saw a lack of modern platforms for women to find support and friendship. She built Peanut to be a safe, inclusive, and empowering space that prioritizes genuine human connection in an increasingly isolated world.
Michelle is involved in UK government initiatives supporting women in technology and entrepreneurship, and speaks regularly on digital safety and community building.
Michelle continues to advocate for a more equitable and inclusive digital world. Through initiatives like Peanut StartHER, a microfund for women founders from underrepresented backgrounds. She is an avid investor and is resolute on helping reshape the startup landscape for the next generation of women entrepreneurs.
